The 2024 NFL draft is just hours away and the New England Patriots are rumored have made their decision on what they will be doing with the third overall pick.
“New England #Patriots do NOT plan on trading the third overall pick. The league wide expectation is that NE will select Drake Maye. Jonathan Kraft R and Elliot Wolf have their guy.”
It’s unclear who the sources are surrounding this rumor.
For what it’s worth, DraftKings Sportsbook does not currently have odds listed as far as who the Patriots will select first.

As for the third overall pick, DK Sportsbook has Drake Maye at -1000 to be selected third overall.
Earlier today, a Patriots insider revealed that Drake Maye was the likely selection for the Patriots but did leave the door open for a potential trade.
“Expect the Patriots to take Drake Maye at number three tonight unless someone—Vikings or Giants—makes them an offer they just can’t refuse,” Curran stated.
The Patriots are going through quite the transition this offseason as it seems like Maye is going to step in and be the Patriots starting quarterback as a rookie following the trade of Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Veteran starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett is on the roster so it is possible that they choose to start Brissett initially and ease Maye into the role if he does end up being their selection.
