On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers fired star player Shohei Ohtani’s interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, following allegations by Ohtani’s representatives that Mizuhara was involved in a “massive theft” of Ohtani’s funds.
They claim the interpreter misappropriated funds to place bets with an allegedly illegal bookmaker, who is currently under federal investigation.
This took social media by storm with one wild rumor circulating that Mizuhara, who is not only Ohtani’s interpreter but also a good friend, is taking the fall for Ohtani.
The rumor, which has formed on social media, alleges that Ohtani is actually the one with the gambling problem and Mizuhara is taking the fall.
Many social media users on X have posted about the rumor.
Despite the rumor, there is currently no evidence to suggest that Ohtani has a gambling problem and is having Mizuhara take the fall.
