It seems the news of O.J. Simpson’s passing has prompted reactions from various quarters, including the White House.
The 76-year-old former NFL star most known for the murder trial that captivated the world back in 1994 passed away of cancer on Thursday.
During a press briefing, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed Simpson’s passing when asked by a reporter.
She gave the administration’s condolences, specifically mentioning their thoughts being with his family.
“Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Obviously with his family and loved ones. And I say this, I know that they have asked for some privacy — and so we’re going to respect that.”
Many have shared sentiments regarding the passing O.J. Simpson.

Notably, Jean-Pierre did not mention Ron Goldman or his ex-wife Nicole Brown who are of course the two people that O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering back in 1994.
Simpson was controversially found not guilty for their murders.
The families of Goldman and Brown are trying to put focus on their late loved ones rather than Simpson.
Goldman’s father, Fred Goldman, had this to say:
“The only thing I have to say is it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years. It’s no great loss to the world. It’s a further reminder of Ron’s being gone.”
