Tiger Woods is set to make his PGA Tour season debut at the Genesis Invitational, held at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
This marks another comeback for the 15-time major winner, who last played a full PGA Tour event in 2020. Despite hosting the tournament through his TGR Foundation, Woods has never clinched a victory at this Los Angeles-based competition.
In recent months, Woods has been navigating challenges with injuries, including plantar fasciitis in his foot and subsequent ankle surgery. Although he announced the launch of his Sun Day Red brand in collaboration with TaylorMade Golf and parted ways with Nike, Woods remains focused on his golfing pursuits.

The 2024 Genesis Invitational will see a field of 70 players competing, including notable names like Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Max Homa. Notably, the event will introduce a 36-hole cut, reducing the field to 50 players.
Ahead of the tournament, a video emerged showing Woods using smokeless tobacco during a practice round. While this may spark debate, many view such moments as humanizing and relatable for the golfing icon.
The Genesis Invitational kicks off today and runs through Sunday, with coverage airing on the Golf Channel and CBS. The schedule is as follows:
- Thursday: Golf Channel 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET
- Friday: Golf Channel 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET
