A three-time Super Bowl champion cut a deal to avoid jail time in an alleged hit-and-run.
Cornerback Tim McKyer won Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers during the 1988 and 1989 NFL seasons as well as one with the Denver Broncos during the 1997 NFL season.
McKyer, aged 60, was apprehended in Florida last month following an incident where he purportedly collided with five cars before leaving the scene.
Authorities announced on Friday that they would dismiss the charges against the former defensive back provided he successfully fulfills a pretrial diversion program.
According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, McKyer is required to undertake 16 hours of community service and attend four hours of defensive driving courses.

Furthermore, McKyer must remit a $100 payment by May 16, coinciding with a plea conference scheduled to evaluate his compliance with the stipulated requirements.
McKyer was reportedly facing potential incarceration after being charged with five counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage. Additionally, he received a criminal citation for leaving the scene and a traffic infraction for failure to report.
The purported incident occurred on February 18, and McKyer was arrested in the early hours of the following morning in Riviera Beach, Florida. Allegedly, he drove his Tesla into five vehicles in a parking garage, leaving them damaged, with some rendered inoperable. McKyer then departed the scene, parking his car on a different floor of the garage before leaving altogether. When police located him, he reportedly exhibited signs of alcohol consumption and impaired balance.
The 60-year-old was subsequently taken into custody and later transported to the hospital, where he confessed to being the sole driver of the vehicle that night.
McKyer’s NFL career spanned from 1986 to 1997, during which he played for seven different teams.
