Details are emerging around the DWI arrest of Patrick Mahomes Sr. Sunday morning just ahead of Super Bowl 58.
Mahomes Sr. — a former MLB pitcher and father of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes — was arrested for the third time for DWI which makes it a felony rather than a misdemeanor.
He was arrested in Tyler, Texas and held on $10,000 bond at Smith County Jail. He posted bail on Sunday.
According to The Post, Mahomes Sr. was driving with an open 16-ounce Coors Light. Reports indicate that he told police he had a “few beers while watching a game at a local bar.”
The arresting officer issued the following statement:
“Based on the totality of the circumstances, I believed Patrick was impaired to a perceptible degree while operating a motor vehicle in a public place.”
Pat Mahomes Sr. pitched in the big leagues from 1992-2003 for the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
