Stephen A. Smith, the ESPN host with multiple career ventures, is planning to delve into character acting. During an interview with the Miami Herald, Smith revealed that he intends to pursue acting as it will help him enhance his performance in other areas of his work.
Although he has never taken any acting lessons, Smith has a recurring role on General Hospital as “Brick,” and he is praised for his natural talent.
“I’m going to do it,” Smith told Jackson with a smile. “I have a recurring role on General Hospital. They swear up and down I can act. I have never taken an acting lesson in my life… It makes me better on television. When you do that, you feel like you’ve achieved a great thing. I like that high, that feeling. It is something I intend to do because I think it’s going to make me better in everything I’m doing in my career.”
Even if he doesn’t become a movie star like Robert De Niro or Mike Francesa, his foray into acting will undoubtedly improve his other ventures.
