Simone Biles, the 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist, recently expressed her frustration with online criticism regarding her marriage to NFL player Jonathan Owens.
Responding to the negative comments, Biles took to TikTok to share a video where she creatively silenced the skeptics. In the video, she followed a popular TikTok trend, using a piece of tape and lip-syncing to a voice saying, “This is for your mouth. Let me know if you need a bigger piece.”
In the clip, Biles highlighted some of the disparaging remarks she often sees about her relationship, such as “Mr. Biles,” “Simone & what’s his name again,” “leave him sis,” and “still don’t know his name.” She captioned her TikTok post with a pointed message to her detractors: “To all my Twitter finger friends & etc. #fyp #sorrynotsorry #mindyourbusiness.”

The criticism intensified after Owens, the new safety for the Chicago Bears, appeared on The Pivot podcast in December, where he described himself as “the catch” in their relationship. This comment led to a barrage of negative attention, culminating in a difficult period for Biles, who admitted to breaking down over the harsh comments directed at her husband.
In an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Biles clarified her husband’s comments, explaining that he was merely expressing confidence in himself and not diminishing her worth. “He never said I wasn’t a catch,” she said. “He said he was a catch because he is. I’ve never met a man like him.”
Despite initially finding the online discourse amusing, the negativity eventually took its toll on Biles. “I thought it was hilarious what people were saying, divorce him, divorce him. All of this crazy stuff,” she recounted. “And then, like, one night, I broke down, and I’m like, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this?'”
Biles emphasized how hurtful it was to see her husband criticized, underscoring her protective stance toward her family: “That really hurt that they were talking about my husband like that. Because for me, it’s like talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family.”
The couple, who married on April 22, 2023, at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, celebrated their union with a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Following their wedding, Owens signed with the Chicago Bears after a stint with the Green Bay Packers, while Biles is preparing for a potential return to the Summer Olympics in Paris.
