There’s speculation that Aaron Rodgers might consider a side gig as a vice presidential candidate this year, but the New York Jets aren’t buying into that possibility.
Reports have confirmed Rodgers’ presence on the VP shortlist for independent presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., given Rodgers’ past expressions of support for Kennedy.
Social media has been buzzing with jokes about Rodgers potentially stepping into the VP role.
However, the Jets don’t seem to be taking Rodgers’ potential candidacy seriously. According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Jets “don’t believe” Rodgers would seriously pursue political office.

The Jets currently don’t believe Rodgers will do it, per a source with knowledge of the situation.
That said, he hasn’t told them whether he will or won’t. He’s been off the grid this week. As of Friday morning, they hadn’t heard from him.
That said, Rodgers has been keeping a low profile this week, and he hasn’t directly communicated his political ambitions (or lack thereof) to the Jets.
From a football perspective, the Jets are gearing up for Rodgers to resume his role as quarterback. They’ve recently bolstered their offensive line by signing an All-Pro player to protect Rodgers’ blind side for the upcoming season.
If Rodgers were to dive into politics, he might need a different kind of protection. He recently faced criticism for alleged comments regarding the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, adding a potential political dimension to his public image.
