Earlier today, Jeff Duncan reported that Michael Thomas would be released by the New Orleans Saints at the beginning of the upcoming league year.
Duncan emphasized that it’s not a matter of “when” but “if” the Saints will part ways with Thomas.
“Michael Thomas has played his last game for the New Orleans Saints,” Duncan wrote.
“The former All-Pro receiver is expected to be released at some point before the start of the league year, which begins next week on March 13.
“It’s not a matter of if the Saints move on, but when, according to multiple sources.”
However, Thomas clarified on social media that he is not being released by the Saints but rather that his contract is set to void this offseason.

In response, Thomas criticized Duncan for consistently reporting negative information about him, accusing Duncan of attempting to ruin players’ value by leaking information from the Saints.
“Jeff Duncan funny how they planning on releasing me if I was on a 1 year deal,” Thomas wrote. “Don’t fall for it he the same dude that tried to be my friend in season after saying I wasn’t the same player in training camp.”
Thomas continued his rant, suggesting that Duncan’s reports are fueled by a desire for clicks and attention, rather than accurate journalism. He also shared a photo of Duncan on social media, questioning his credibility as a football analyst.
Despite Thomas’ impressive performance since joining the league in 2016, injuries have hampered his recent seasons, impacting his career trajectory.
