Kelly Stafford continues to talk about her husband’s job.
During Matthew Stafford’s 2022 Super Bowl run, his wife Kelly experienced extreme stress, causing her weight to drop to 90 lbs, she revealed on her podcast The Morning After.
In a conversation with Emily, wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, Kelly recounted feeling miserable and unable to keep anything down during each game of the season. Despite the Rams’ victory in the Super Bowl, Kelly reflects on that time with mixed emotions, describing it as a blurry period.
The transition to life on the sidelines in Los Angeles was challenging for Kelly, especially considering Matthew’s trade from the Detroit Lions to the Rams the previous January after spending 12 seasons in Detroit.
Sharing her experience with Emily, who also faced adapting to a new city after Baker’s move to Tampa, Kelly discussed the difficulties of the past season.

“Every game, I couldn’t hold anything down. I was miserable. I was miserable. I think I weighed 90 lbs.” said Kelly.
In a previous episode of her podcast last August, Kelly shared that Matthew struggled to connect with his younger teammates, who addressed him with formality and respect due to his veteran status.
Matthew expressed a desire to build rapport and chemistry with his teammates, even going as far as having a book printed with their names and faces to facilitate conversation and connection in the locker room.
