Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, recently garnered attention for her comments about her husband’s challenges in connecting with his younger teammates. However, she now regrets speaking out about the matter.
During an interview with Local 4’s Christy McDonald, Kelly Stafford acknowledged that her remarks were “probably the worst thing I’ve done when it comes to him.”
She explained:
“I spoke on a topic that I think, it’s relatable, to the fact that it’s hard to relate to someone who is ten years younger than you. And I do think that’s entirely true. But I’m not in an NFL locker room, I’m not spending every day with these teammates.”
Reflecting on her previous statements, Kelly admitted:
“That was tough. I say all the time, probably not the best if your wife’s name is in the media, if it’s talking about sports. I felt pretty bad last week. I put my foot in my mouth pretty good last week.”

Despite expressing remorse, Kelly Stafford did not retract her comments regarding her husband’s difficulty in connecting with younger teammates. However, she recognized that her words had become a topic of discussion, which may not have been beneficial for anyone involved.
Kelly has consistently defended her husband, but in this instance, her comments may have created some awkwardness in the Rams’ locker room, and she is aware of it.
