Marvin Harrison Jr. opted not to participate in pre-draft workouts with NFL teams, a move he explained with transparency.
The talented wide receiver stated his decision to forego Ohio State’s pro day and the NFL Combine was driven by a belief that these events wouldn’t add value for him.
Instead, Harrison and his father concluded it was more strategic to focus on preparing for the upcoming NFL season, emphasizing rest and training specifically for football rather than combine drills.

“Just talking to my dad, we decided what’s best for us: to prepare for the NFL season, not prepare for the combine or pro day or anything like that,” Harrison told Eric Edholm of NFL Media. “So, take our time to do our due diligence. Also resting after the season, getting your body right.
Harrison’s perspective reflects a sentiment shared by others that excelling in drills and scoring high on combine metrics, while beneficial, may not directly correlate to actual game performance. Proven as a top-tier player at Ohio State, Harrison saw no additional benefit in showcasing his abilities further.
His draft prospects appear unaffected by his choice, and he is anticipated to be among the initial selections on draft day, although it remains uncertain if he will be the first wide receiver chosen.
