Saturday Night Live star Heidi Gardner humorously apologized for her sketch with Travis Kelce during his hosting stint on the show last year, jokingly acknowledging the comedic scenario of being in bed with the NFL star.
Kelce’s hosting gig came on the heels of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in 2023 and received widespread acclaim, with one of the standout sketches featuring him and Gardner in a humorous scenario involving a Hinge date interruption.
Reflecting on the episode during an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, Gardner shared her experience and revealed some behind-the-scenes details about Kelce’s game day routine. She playfully mentioned feeling “protective” of Kelce and quipped about his game day fuel of choice: Uncrustables.
Gardner recounted how Kelce humorously confessed to indulging in Uncrustables throughout game day, even during breaks in the action. To make Kelce feel more at home during the SNL shoot, Gardner went out of her way to purchase Uncrustables, adding a touch of authenticity to the set.
Gardner also divulged an amusing anecdote about pitching Kelce as a host to SNL creator Lorne Michaels, who initially insisted Kelce must “win the Super Bowl” before being considered for the role. True to form, Kelce fulfilled the prerequisite by securing a Super Bowl victory before gracing the SNL stage on March 4, 2023.
Meanwhile, Kelce was spotted enjoying the company of The Chainsmokers and retired NBA star Chandler Parsons at a Kentucky Derby concert. The trio, along with other notable personalities, attended the Sports Illustrated Revel at the Races concert on the eve of the Kentucky Derby, where Kelce mingled with the electronic duo backstage.
Following the festivities, Kelce is slated to join his girlfriend Taylor Swift for the Miami Grand Prix, accompanied by their friends Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. The group’s upcoming outing in Miami comes on the heels of their recent double date in Las Vegas, showcasing their close-knit bond and shared adventures beyond their respective fields.
