LSU women’s head basketball coach Kim Mulkey is never afraid to say what’s on her mind.
As the LSU women’s basketball team gears up for its NCAA game on Sunday in Baton Rouge against Middle Tennessee State University, Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey is also bracing for an impending national article about her.
During her media availability on Saturday, Mulkey took the opportunity during the opening statement portion of the Q&A to discuss what she believes to be an upcoming article in the Washington Post concerning her.
Mulkey called the upcoming article a “hit piece,” and says “I’ve hired the best defamation law firm in the country and I’ll sue the Washington Post if they publish a false story about me.”
Pat Forde of Sports Illustrated was the first to make mention of the yet to be published article on Friday.
Mulkey and the third-seeded LSU Tigers will take on 11th-seeded Middle Tennessee State on Sunday with the winner advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament.
