In February, Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was accused of sexual battery and has since been arrested and charged.
The alleged offense took place at a restaurant where the owner claimed that he forcibly kissed her and also accused him of assaulting an employee in a separate incident. In addition to this, it has been reported that prior to these allegations, Jackson Mahomes angered another restaurant owner in December 2021 for his behavior towards staff members and tweeted about his dissatisfaction with their inability to accommodate him and his friends.
SoT, the cocktail bar in Kansas City, responded to his tweets and criticized him for pouring water on fans and dancing on memorials for TikTok clout. This behavior has garnered criticism for Jackson and caused controversy surrounding his actions.
“We survived a global pandemic, we’ll survive your ego,” their response read. “We are sorry you didn’t reach out to us first before taking to social media, but then again that is an expectation we would have from a mature and rational person, not someone who pours water on fans and dances on the memorials of tragically lost people for TikTok clout.”
