The Chicago Bears hold the coveted No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, and speculation suggests they’re eyeing USC Trojans’ Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Caleb Williams.
However, a new twist emerges as former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III (RGIII) urges Williams to follow in Eli Manning’s footsteps and refuse to play for the Bears.
Manning famously maneuvered his way out of playing for the then-San Diego Chargers, ultimately landing with the New York Giants. RGIII took to social media on Monday morning, advocating for Williams to make a similar bold move.
“Caleb Williams should pull an Eli Manning and tell the Chicago Bears I AIN’T COMING,” RGIII asserted in his post.

The Bears previously drafted Justin Fields from Ohio State and entrusted him with the starting quarterback position. Despite Fields’ promising performances, the Bears opted to trade him to the Steelers over the weekend.
Now, all signs point to the Bears selecting Williams with the top pick. However, the decision ultimately rests with Williams, and it remains to be seen if he’ll heed RGIII’s advice.
The upcoming weeks promise to be intriguing as the situation unfolds.
