A former New Orleans Saints All-Pro wide receiver isn’t holding back on the team’s medical staff and head coach, Dennis Allen.
Ex- Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas took to social media on Tuesday to strongly criticize the medical staff of his former team. Thomas claimed that the staff administers the same rehabilitation exercises to every injured player, regardless of their specific needs.
Thomas’s outspoken remarks come in the wake of reports suggesting that Saints offensive lineman Ryan Ramczyk may not receive clearance to play this season due to a knee injury. With significant knee injuries in both 2021 and the previous year, Ramczyk’s NFL future remains uncertain.

Thomas squarely places the blame on Saints head coach Dennis Allen and the New Orleans medical staff for the situation surrounding Ramczyk, highlighting concerns about the team’s approach to player health and rehabilitation.
Here’s how Thomas replied to a post on X regarding Ramcyzk’s injury:
“It’s like he uses the same line and just changes the players name as if there isnt a team doctor and trainers on staff that have nothing to do with it. They trying to protect them as much as possible but hey don’t mind me I don’t work there no more. But that’s the real problem.”
Thomas followed it up by relying to somebody who asked him on X if it’s the medical staff’s fault everyone is hurt.
“Well when you get a injury they build you a little file folder for rehab that’s suppose to help you return to play but in reality it’s all the same rehab exercises and procedures regardless if it’s , ankle , knee , wrist etc. it’s called insanity.”
Thomas had been a Saint for his entire career since being drafted in 2016 out of Ohio State, but he is currently a free agent and will not be returning to the team in 2024.
With the Saints, Thomas was named First-Team All-Pro in 2018 and 2019 and was selected to the Pro Bowl three times. He also led the league in receptions in both 2018 and 2019 and receiving yards in 2019.
However, Thomas’ last four seasons have been injury-riddled which may be the reason behind his frustration with the medical staff.
Thomas has only played in a total of 22 games since the 2020 season.
