The Denver Broncos have decided to release quarterback Ben DiNucci, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
DiNucci joined the Broncos last offseason and spent the entire season on their practice squad. Although he signed a reserve/future contract with Denver in January, the team has chosen to let him go following their acquisition of quarterbacks Bo Nix through the draft and Zach Wilson via trade. The Broncos also have Jarrett Stidham remaining on their roster.
Originally selected in the 7th round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys from James Madison, DiNucci started a game against Philadelphia on “Sunday Night Football” in 2020, where he threw for 180 yards.

After being waived by the Cowboys in 2022, he was picked up by the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL, where he served as the starting quarterback. During his tenure in the XFL, the 27-year-old threw for 2,671 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, and also scored 3 rushing touchdowns in 10 games.
His impressive performance in the XFL earned him another shot in the NFL with the Broncos.
