Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who publicly supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election, has decided not to endorse any candidate in the upcoming presidential race.
He revealed this change in stance during an interview with Fox News’s Will Cain, explaining that his previous endorsement resulted in “an incredible amount of division” which deeply affected him.
Johnson stated, “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time.” However, he now believes that such public declarations can be polarizing. This shift occurs amidst rumors, spurred by the gossip account Deuxmoi, suggesting Johnson’s potential interest in aligning with Donald Trump, possibly even as a vice-presidential candidate, as part of a broader ambition to enter politics.

The actor and former pro wrestler first ventured into political endorsements in 2020, supporting Biden and then-Sen. Kamala Harris, noting they were the “best choice to lead our country.” That marked a significant moment for Johnson, who is the most-followed man on social media globally.
Reflecting on the repercussions of his 2020 endorsement, Johnson expressed regret about the divisiveness it spurred, saying, “What that caused back then, was something that tears me up in my gut back then and now, which is division.” He further noted, “After that—months, and months, and months [later]—I started to realize like, ‘oh man, that caused an incredible amount of division in our country.’”
With these reflections in mind, Johnson has resolved to stay non-partisan in public discourse going forward: “I realized now going into this election, I’m not going to do that. I wouldn’t do that because my goal is to bring our country together. I believe in that in my DNA.”
He also emphasized his commitment to personal privacy regarding his political choices, remarking, “In the spirit of that, there’s gonna be no endorsement. Not that I’m afraid of it at all, but it’s just I realize that this level of influence, I’m going to keep my politics to myself. I think it’s between me and the ballot box.”
While Johnson has hinted at his own political aspirations in the past, he clarified his current stance on political trust, saying, “While like a lot of us out there are not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people. And I trust that whoever they vote for, that’s going to be my president. And that’s who I’m going to support 100 percent.”
