Dallan Hayden, a former four-star recruit from Memphis, Tennessee, is transferring to the Colorado Buffaloes, potentially to conclude his collegiate career.
Hayden, who previously played as a running back for Ohio State, entered the transfer portal last week and has chosen to join Colorado, as reported by ESPN.com. This move comes as the Buffaloes are looking to bolster their backfield, especially after Alton McCaskill IV transferred out of the program.
During a recent spring practice, Colorado’s head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders announced that walk-on Charlie Offerdahl would serve as the second-string running back “until further notice.” Under Sanders, who joined the program sixteen months ago and is already a Pro Football Hall of Famer, Colorado has extensively utilized the transfer portal to strengthen the team.
Hayden’s visit to Colorado over the weekend led to his decision to commit to the Buffaloes. He was one of two Ohio State players to enter the transfer portal during the 15-day spring window. With Sanders at the helm, the Buffaloes have seen a significant influx of talent, with Hayden becoming the fifth transfer to commit this offseason.

In his two years at Ohio State, Hayden served primarily in a backup role within the backfield, behind players like TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins. Despite limited opportunities, he accumulated 663 rushing yards and six touchdowns during his tenure.
Now at Colorado, Hayden has the opportunity to become the featured back, a role that could not only enhance his statistical output but also position him as a viable NFL Draft prospect in the future.
