This week, The Ringer released its annual NFL quarterback rankings list. Dallas Cowboys’ starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, secured the No. 8 spot in the league, just behind Aaron Rodgers and slightly ahead of Matthew Stafford. Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles was positioned at No. 10, two spots behind Prescott.
On “The Herd” on FS1, Colin Cowherd expressed strong disagreement with Prescott being ranked higher than Hurts, outlining several reasons for his stance.

Cowherd emphasized, “When I see Jalen Hurts, I see precision. I see playmaking. I see a pressure player. When I see Dak Prescott, I see a pocket passer whose performance is declining and requires significant assistance.”
Cowherd went on to speculate that within “two or three months,” Hurts might be widely recognized as one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL, raising a question about whether a similar sentiment would apply to Dak Prescott in the same timeframe.
Throughout this offseason, Dak Prescott has faced considerable criticism.
He will have an opportunity to respond on Sunday night when the Cowboys face the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in a game broadcast on NBC.
