While Taylor Swift’s skybox at the NFL game appeared to be a lot of fun, it seems that the experience didn’t live up to its initial allure.
Director Shawn Levy openly discussed Taylor Swift’s immense fame, which he found to be “almost depressing” after attending the NFL game with the singer and her friends last week.
In an interview with Variety, the highly regarded director playfully commented that he could create “50 more hit movies and shows” and still be primarily recognized as the guy in the orange suede jacket who attended the Chiefs-Jets game with Taylor and others. He humorously described this recognition as “almost depressing.”
Levy, known for his work on the Stranger Things series, The Adam Project, Free Guy, Night at the Museum franchise, and in collaboration with Hugh Jackman, mentioned that they were invited to the NFL game by their “very close friend” Ryan Reynolds. They enjoyed the game from Swift’s star-studded suite, accompanied by Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, Sophie Turner, Sabrina Carpenter, and other notable figures.

Levy is currently directing the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie featuring Reynolds and Jackman. He shared that the decision to attend the game was straightforward, saying, “It was as simple as, ‘Wait, we can go to an NFL game with our buddies? Let’s do it.'”
However, he admitted that they were taken aback by the unexpected attention they received during the outing. Although it was an enjoyable evening, Levy remarked that he had never encountered fame quite like that of the 12-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift, who, at 33, he described as a “culture magnet unlike anything I’ve seen.”
Reflecting on the experience, Levy confessed that he had been exceptionally mindful of his words, especially during the car ride to the stadium. He explained, “I’ve never been more conscious of being careful of what I say because if you’re going to a football game in a box with Taylor, you pretty much have to assume that you are on camera all the time, and they’re capable of slow motion, so they can definitely read lips.”
Levy concluded with a light-hearted quip, stating, “So, I kept it clean.”
