That’s a bold comparison, Bill!
Houston Rockets star Jalen Green has been on a tear recently as the Rockets have won eight stragith games and vaulted back into the NBA’s Western Conference play-in picture.
This has led The Ringer founder Bill Simmons to compare Green’s recent performance to late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
“Watching him the last couple of weeks, it’s like, man, if you were just drawing a two-guard from scratch, from a scoring standpoint, what kind of move or shot doesn’t he have?”
This is certainly high praise for Green and he has earned it as he has been remarkable in the month of March averaging 27.8 points per game on over 50% shooting from the field.
To compare, Green is averaging 19.5 points per game on 42.6% shooting for the 2023-24 NBA season.
With star center Alperen Sengun going down for the season earlier in the month, it was suspected that the Rockets season would come to an unceremonious end as April approached.
However, the Rockets have promptly won eight straight games a sit only one and a half games back of the Golden State Warriors for the final spot in the Western Conference’s play-in tournament.
Green’s will certainly continue being a large part of whether the Rockets reach the play-in tournament.
