The Heat’s postseason success owes much to Jimmy Butler’s leadership. Miami had to fight hard for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference through the play-in tournament before defeating the Bucks and Knicks to reach the Eastern Conference finals against the Celtics.
And in Game 1, Butler’s superb display of 35 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and six steals helped Miami secure a victory. Though Butler is eager to repeat this feat in Game 2, he was also excited to chat with Ernie Johnson of NBA on TNT.
“I spoke to a legend today, y’all saw that? He knows who I am,” Butler said.

Johnson praised Butler’s game, and the player couldn’t contain his delight, exclaiming that he had spoken to a legend. It’s clear that Johnson and his colleagues on Inside the NBA have a glamorous job, but players like Jimmy Butler also cherish speaking with them.
Jimmy Buckets is a real one.
