At their spring game on Saturday, the Colorado Buffaloes, under the guidance of Coach Deion Sanders, looked ahead to the 2024 season with ambitious goals.
During the event, Coach Sanders addressed the crowd and took a moment to speak directly to Peggy Coppom, a 99-year-old fan of the Buffaloes who was present. He made a heartfelt commitment to her, promising that the team would make it to a bowl game in the upcoming season.
“We’re going to get you to a bowl game, baby,” Sanders declared.

Aiming for a bowl game is a clear goal for the Buffaloes, who finished last season with a record of 4-8. Despite a promising 3-0 start, the team struggled in the latter part of the season, losing eight of their final nine games. Improving by two games to qualify for a bowl in Sanders’ second year seems like a feasible target.
However, Sanders faces some hurdles, including managing a significant roster turnover and addressing criticisms from at least one departing player. The road to a bowl game might be more challenging than initially expected.
