The rivalry between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark has garnered significant attention.
Off the court, they share a strong friendship, but once they step onto the court, their competitive spirits take over. Both are fiercely driven and determined to secure victory.
Despite their intense competition, Reese and Clark displayed admirable sportsmanship after Iowa’s triumph over LSU on Monday night. Reese conveyed her encouragement to Clark, urging her to continue excelling and striving for greatness.
“She just told me to continue to be a great player. And I told her to continue to be a great player, as well. And keep elevating the game. And go win it,” Reese shared.
Reese’s gesture of sportsmanship was commendable following their compelling matchup. Reese contributed 17 points and an impressive 20 rebounds, while Clark showcased her skill with 41 points and 12 assists.
Iowa emerged victorious with a final score of 94-87, asserting dominance particularly in the third quarter. The Hawkeyes avenged last year’s defeat in the national title game by eliminating the defending champions in the Elite Eight.
Next up, Iowa will face off against the UConn Huskies, with a coveted spot in the 2024 National Championship Game at stake. The highly anticipated matchup is scheduled for Friday night at 9:30 p.m. ET.
