Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has broken his silence regarding his father’s recent arrest following a DWI incident in Texas.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was apprehended for this offense over the weekend, marking his third strike, potentially leading to a significant prison sentence.
According to TMZ, the elder Mahomes confessed to having “a few beers while watching a game at a local bar” before getting behind the wheel, prompting law enforcement to pull him over for driving slower than traffic with expired tags.
The arresting officer reported that the former MLB player failed a sobriety test upon exiting his vehicle.
When questioned about the situation during Super Bowl opening night media interactions, the quarterback offered limited comments, stating, “He’s doing good. I don’t want to get into too much, but he’s doing good for whatever the situation is. It’s a family matter, so I’ll keep it within the family, and that’s all I’ll really have to say at this point.”
