Even Travis Kelce, despite his personal connection to the matter, believes that the NFL might be taking things a bit too far in its embrace of Taylor Swift’s newfound interest in the Chiefs and their star tight end.

On their recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce questioned his brother, setting aside personal matters, about whether the NFL was “exaggerating” its embrace of the Swifties.
“I think it’s fun when they show who’s at the game,” Travis said. “I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, they’re overdoing it a little bit.”
To be fair, Jason was steering his brother towards that response by sharing his own perspective on the NFL’s amplification of the situation involving Taylor and his speculated celebrity girlfriend.
“I just think the NFL is not used to celebrities coming to the games,” Jason added. “Like basketball has it all figured out. They’re all courtside, they’re sitting there. They show ’em once or twice, but then they get back to the game.”
There are celebrities, and then there are phenomena, and Taylor Swift, along with her fervent fanbase, adds a unique layer of intrigue to the NFL. As Jason highlights, the league is still figuring out how to navigate this phenomenon.
