Global superstar Taylor Swift has been present at the Kansas City Chiefs’ last two games. The question now arises: will she make it a third?
This query surfaced on Monday in the locker room of the Minnesota Vikings, who are set to host the Chiefs, along with Taylor Swift’s friend, tight end Travis Kelce, at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. remarked that it would be “cool,” but perhaps not for Kelce.
“Oh man, the social media is going crazy,” Murphy said when asked about the league’s embrace of the Swift-Kelce storyline. “And I’m not hating against it. That’s the world we’re living in. Is she going to come to this game? We’re locked in, but that would be something. I’ve been watching her since I was a kid. That would be cool, for sure.
“Not for him, because we’re going to try to get our hands on him in front of her.”
Murphy, who admitted to never having attended one of Swift’s concerts, added his perspective.
“I’m going to say something to him to get him going.”
Swift attended both the Chiefs’ games, joining Kelce’s mother during their Week 3 victory against the Chicago Bears and Sunday night’s triumph over the New York Jets.
The NFL has been wholeheartedly supportive of this connection. As of Monday afternoon, the league’s primary X (formerly Twitter) account featured three photos of Swift cheering for the Chiefs in New York. The league even used the phrase “we had the best day with you today,” referencing a lyric from Swift’s song “The Best Day.”
