Despite being swept out of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are still the center of attention.
After the Lakers were swept in the Western Conference Finals, James hinted at retirement in his postgame presser. He hinted at the idea of retiring prior to the 2023-24 season following the Game 4 loss.
“We’ll see what happens going forward,” James said. “I don’t know. I don’t know. I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about.”
This will certainly put the spotlight on James as the rumors will persist about whether he is returning throughout the offseason.
On Monday, LeBron dropped a rather interesting social media post on Instagram.

Without a 38-year-old LeBron, the Lakers won’t contend for a title, or likely even make the playoffs.
The good news for the Lakers is that LeBron is under contract for 2 more years at $97 million. Most NBA pundits believe that LeBron won’t walk away from that contract.
There’s also the incentive of playing with his son, Bronny, who will likely be drafted in 2024.
