Brandon Aiyuk appears to have taken notice of the comments made by San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch earlier today.
During the annual league meetings on Monday, Lynch addressed the rumors surrounding Aiyuk’s potential trade, emphasizing ongoing discussions with the player to reach a resolution.
“We’re actively talking with Brandon, trying to figure something out,” Lynch stated. “We have a good history of working with the guys we want to get done to get something done, and it takes two sides. So, can we do that? We’ll see.
“There’s a number of different directions that it could go, but we appreciate the heck out of Brandon and who he is as a player. We want him to be a part of the Niners, so we’re going to work towards making that a reality.”
Following Lynch’s remarks, Aiyuk took to his Instagram story to post several emojis that, when decoded, seemed to convey a message.
“Money talk, bulls–t walks,” Aiyuk wrote.

While Lynch indicated the 49ers would be open to Aiyuk playing the upcoming season under his fifth-year option, the 2020 first-round pick likely prefers securing a long-term deal sooner rather than later.
While the 49ers may desire Aiyuk’s continued presence on the team, they will eventually need to demonstrate their commitment financially. It remains to be seen if Aiyuk will be satisfied with their offer when the time comes.
