Lisa Wilson, the mother of New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, doesn’t have a favorable opinion of the Jets’ fanbase. Her sentiments may have deepened following their treatment of her son after Monday’s victory over the Buffalo Bills.
Taking to Instagram after the dramatic 22-16 walkoff win, Mrs. Wilson posted a video showing her son being struck in the head by a thrown water bottle as he left the field.
She commented in her Instagram Story, “That happened after they won the game. Hit him right in the head. Awesome.”
This incident marks the extent of Lisa Wilson’s grievances against the fanbase at this time. In the past, she has previously referred to the fans as “toxic.”
Zach Wilson’s girlfriend expressed her thoughts more mildly on social media.
Now, Zach Wilson has returned as the starting quarterback for the New York Jets and will bear the responsibility of leading a playoff-caliber team for the remaining 16 games of the season. It’s expected that he will encounter challenges along the way, and when he does, Jets fans may continue to subject him to intense scrutiny.
If Zach Wilson finds it challenging to handle this pressure, he may need to consider requesting a trade or immediate benching. However, it’s unlikely that he will make such a move, and as a result, both he and the team may face the consequences.
