Zach Wilson, the Jets’ starting quarterback, has strongly denied a recent report from The Athletic that claimed he was reluctant to play again this season.
During his first press conference since reclaiming the starting role, Wilson refuted the report, stating, “I’ve never once said that to anybody in this locker room, that I wouldn’t want to play.”
“I’m going to have more fun than I’ve ever had, in a professional way,” said Wilson, looking ahead to what likely will be his final five games with the Jets.
He emphasized that the claim was “absolutely not” true. Wilson is set to start against the Texans on Sunday and intends to continue for the rest of the season unless Aaron Rodgers returns.

The denial highlights the importance of seeking responses from all involved parties before publishing potentially damaging claims. The failure to do so raises questions about the reporting’s reliability and potential underlying motives.
The Jets have become a real dumpster fire this season.
