Xavier Worthy has made his aspirations clear: he wants to join the Kansas City Chiefs and fill the shoes of the team’s former star receiver, Tyreek Hill.
Worthy turned heads last week by setting a new NFL Combine record in the 40-yard dash, clocking in at an impressive 4.21 seconds. Hill, renowned for his lightning speed, has long been a standout wide receiver in the NFL, consistently leaving defensive backs in his wake.
After spending six successful seasons with the Chiefs, Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster deal in March 2022. Since his departure, Kansas City has struggled to find a receiver of similar caliber, relying heavily on tight end Travis Kelce to carry the passing game.

“In a perfect world, I definitely would want to go to the Chiefs,” Worthy stated in an interview with USA Today. “Just the way Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs improvise and use you. They had Tyreek Hill. The way they used him, I feel like that would be a perfect fit for me.”
Worthy is confident in his abilities and believes he will immediately become the fastest player in the NFL upon joining his new team. His impressive performance at the combine has propelled him into first-round draft projections, with Kansas City holding the final pick at No. 32 overall.
However, with a highly competitive class of wide receivers in this year’s draft, including Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze, it remains to be seen if Worthy will still be available when the Chiefs make their selection.
Historically, Kansas City has been adept at capitalizing on talented players falling into their lap in the draft. If Worthy is within reach, the Chiefs could secure a promising addition to their roster without sacrificing additional draft assets.
