For the second consecutive year, a professional Texas quarterback finds himself entangled in accusations of sexual assault or misconduct.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has filed a civil lawsuit against a Fort Worth woman, alleging that she fabricated a sexual assault claim as part of an extortion scheme targeting him for $100 million.
Prescott’s attorney, Levi G. McCathern of Dallas, asserts that while Prescott did engage in consensual sexual activity, he vehemently denies any nonconsensual conduct.
“Mr. Prescott, a new father to a baby girl, deeply empathizes with survivors of sexual assault,” McCathern stated. “He firmly believes in the severe punishment of all perpetrators of such crimes. It is important to clarify that Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual sexual behavior.”

The woman’s legal representatives issued a letter in January, detailing her alleged anguish and trauma since the purported incident in 2017. They proposed to refrain from pursuing criminal charges or public disclosure in exchange for $100 million in damages.
Prescott’s legal team responded by initiating legal action against the accuser and her attorneys, Bethel T. Zehaie and Yoel T. Zehaie, accusing them of extortion.
In a recent development, it has emerged that Yoel T. Zehaie, one of the opposing attorneys, is identified as a Dallas Cowboys enthusiast. Evidence surfaced in an old Facebook comment from the previous season, wherein he disparaged Prescott as “garbage.”
According to the lawsuit, the woman alleges that Prescott invited her, along with members of his entourage and other women, to a venue in Plano. Subsequently, she claims that in a black SUV, Prescott exposed himself and subjected her to sexual assault using physical force.
Prescott has refrained from addressing the matter publicly beyond the confines of his lawsuit and his attorney’s statement.
Approaching his ninth season with the Cowboys, the 30-year-old quarterback was drafted as a rookie out of Mississippi State in 2016.
