A female fan caused a brief disruption during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the New York Jets when she ran onto the field waving a sign in support of former president Donald Trump. The fan, whose identity has not been revealed, dashed across the field at Acrisure Stadium holding a banner that read, “Trump, secure border. Kamala open border,” referencing the ongoing immigration debate and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The unexpected interruption garnered enthusiastic cheers from parts of the Pittsburgh crowd, but it didn’t make it to the live broadcast on NBC. The woman managed to run as far as the 40-yard line before security intervened, tackling her and escorting her off the field. It remains unclear if any charges will be brought against her for the incident.
Former president Donald Trump, who was in attendance at the game, watched the events unfold from a VIP suite. Trump arrived at the stadium during the first quarter and received a warm welcome from fans. Although he did not directly respond to the fan’s field invasion, video footage shared by his campaign staff showed Trump waving to the crowd, pumping his fist as fans chanted “U-S-A! U-S-A!” in his honor.
Margo Martin, the deputy communications director for Trump’s campaign, shared the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), adding, “President @realDonaldTrump arrives at Acrisure Stadium to chants of U-S-A.” The rally-like atmosphere at the game highlighted Trump’s ongoing popularity in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state as the 2024 election approaches.

Trump, who is making regular stops across key battleground states, spent the weekend campaigning in the Pittsburgh area. Ahead of the game, he was seen with former Steelers stars Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, who both endorsed Trump’s presidential campaign.
Later, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his gratitude for the warm reception he received. “Thank you to the Steelers fans for the great reception tonight,” he wrote, urging supporters to turn out for the 2024 election. “November 5th will be the most important in the history of our Country! MAGA 2024!!!”
A spokesperson for the Steelers later clarified that Trump was a guest of a suite holder and not officially invited by the team. Despite the field disruption, the game continued without further incident, as the Steelers cruised to a dominant 37-15 victory, improving their season record to 5-2. The Jets, meanwhile, dropped to 2-5.
Earlier in the day, Trump was spotted at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, flipping burgers as part of his campaign tour in the Keystone State.
