Should a woman be flashing the crowd—and TV cameras—during an event at the Summer Olympics in Paris, France?
This question has sparked a heated debate on social media following an incident during the women’s singles tennis quarterfinals at Roland Garros. During a match between top-ranked Iga Swiatek and the United States’ Danielle Collins, a woman in the crowd flashed the cameras, capturing the attention of viewers and quickly going viral.
“Did anyone else see this during the Swiatek-Collins match?” one fan asked, reflecting the widespread surprise and curiosity.
Reactions were mixed, with many questioning the appropriateness of the woman’s actions, especially given that she appeared to be sitting next to a child. “Right next to your kid????? Yo momma for the streets bud,” one fan commented, expressing outrage. Another added, “Not next to a child. ???????????.”
Some fans were more forgiving or attributed the behavior to cultural differences. “It’s France, they are more liberal there,” one person noted. Others speculated about the woman’s nationality, with one user asserting, “100% American.”

Interestingly, the woman’s family members seemed unbothered by the incident, suggesting it might not be unusual behavior for them. However, it certainly added an unexpected twist to an already eventful day at Roland Garros.
In the match itself, Swiatek defeated Collins 6-1, 2-6, 4-1, with Collins having to retire due to hydration issues. The aftermath of the match brought further drama when Collins accused Swiatek of being disingenuous about her injury. “I told Iga she didn’t have to be insincere about, you know, my injury,” Collins said, according to tennis reporter Christopher Clarey. “There’s a lot that happens on camera, and there are a lot of people with a ton of charisma and come out and are one way on camera and another way in the locker room. And I just haven’t had the best experience, and I don’t really feel like anybody needs to be insincere. They can be the way that they are. I can accept that, and I don’t need the fakeness.”
The incident with the flashing spectator only added to the off-court drama, making this Summer Olympics a particularly eventful one for tennis.
As the tournament continues at Roland Garros, it remains to be seen if more surprises and controversies will unfold.
