Devon Mostert, wife of Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert, has come under fire for her outspoken defense of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and her criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris. In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Devon revealed that she has faced a barrage of hateful and racist comments, primarily from liberal critics, after publicly voicing her support for DeSantis in the wake of Hurricane Milton’s devastation in Florida.
“This is gross,” Devon told Fox News, expressing her disbelief at the venomous messages she’s received. “I truly can’t imagine sliding into someone’s DMs or commenting on a family photo and talking about the skin color of my kids.”
Devon, who is white, and Raheem, who is Black, have been married since 2017 and share three sons. While Devon said she’s learned to ignore personal attacks on herself, such as being called a “white, snowflake, gold-digging wife,” she drew the line when the hateful comments targeted her children.
“When you talk about my kids, you’re really crossing a line,” she stated emphatically. “I know who I am, I know my heart, and I know my family dynamic. They think they know me, but they know absolutely nothing.”
The backlash began after Devon shared her views on the public spat between Vice President Harris and Governor DeSantis, which erupted following the vice president’s criticism of the governor’s handling of federal aid offers during the Hurricane Milton recovery efforts. Harris, who is the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in the upcoming election, accused DeSantis of playing politics during a time of crisis.

“Moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re going to put politics aside and put people first,” Harris said in a statement regarding DeSantis’ response. “People are in desperate need of support right now, and playing political games in these situations is utterly irresponsible and selfish.”
Devon, an ardent DeSantis supporter, quickly took to social media to counter Harris’ remarks. In a now-viral post, she criticized both Harris and President Joe Biden, mocking Harris for her comments while questioning Biden’s praise of the vice president’s leadership.
“In case you missed it, Kam Kam went on a media rant yesterday about how selfish and utterly irresponsible DeSantis is,” Devon wrote. “The math ain’t mathing, sis. They’re sinking their own ship.”
She continued her critique of Harris, adding: “No one has time, Kamala – especially for her to say some [B.S.] like, ‘We can be unburdened by what has been.’ She’s garbage. Textbook trash.”
Devon further expressed her support for former President Donald Trump, sharing a pro-Trump post that praised him for housing 275 Florida workers at his Doral Miami resort for free during the hurricane recovery. Annah Tagovailoa, wife of Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, also shared Devon’s post, showing solidarity in their political stance.
In her interview with Fox, Devon explained that her frustration with the Biden-Harris administration stemmed from what she saw as inconsistencies in their messaging during the crisis.
“What really triggered me was how they’re part of the same administration but were both spewing very different stories,” Devon said, referring to what she saw as conflicting statements from Biden and Harris. “That, in my opinion, is selfish and utterly irresponsible.”
Devon’s public comments have only fueled the backlash, but she remains undeterred. For her, the criticism isn’t just about political differences—it’s about defending her family and her beliefs in the face of relentless online attacks. Despite the harsh words directed at her and her loved ones, she continues to stand by her opinions and support for DeSantis, unafraid to speak out in the politically charged climate.
As a public figure tied to a high-profile athlete, Devon Mostert’s comments have sparked national attention, blending the worlds of sports and politics.
The hate she has received, particularly regarding her family, highlights the deep divisions in today’s political landscape, where personal lives are often thrust into the spotlight when public figures voice strong opinions.
