Simone Biles’ much-talked-about appearance at Soldier Field this past Saturday may be one of the few times the superstar gymnast will be spotted cheering on her NFL husband, Jonathan Owens, during this football season. In a candid “get ready with me” video posted on Monday to her TikTok account, Biles shared with her 5.3 million followers that her upcoming commitments could limit her attendance at Owens’ games.
Biles, who recently tied the knot with the newly signed Chicago Bears safety, explained that her role as the host of the Gold Over America Tour—a gymnastics showcase featuring top athletes—will likely keep her on the road for much of the NFL season.
“I’m not sure how many games I’ll be able to make because, in a few weeks, we go on tour,” Biles said in the video. “If you guys aren’t aware, I host the Gold Over America Tour, and I think right now we’re doing about 32 stops.”
The Gold Over America Tour, which kicks off in Oceanside, California, on September 16 and concludes in Detroit on November 3, will feature a star-studded lineup of gymnasts, including Olympians like Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, and others such as Hezly Rivera, Paul Juda, Frederick Richard, and Brody Malone. The tour promises to deliver dazzling performances that celebrate the sport of gymnastics, with Biles at the forefront as both a host and a performer.
One of the tour dates includes a stop in Chicago on Sunday, September 29, coinciding with a home game for the Bears against the Los Angeles Rams. This overlap could mean Biles will be able to catch that particular game, but her availability for others remains uncertain as she balances her gymnastics commitments with supporting her husband on the football field.
Jonathan Owens, who is entering his sixth NFL season and first with the Bears after signing a two-year deal in March, has already had a taste of Biles’ support during his time with the Green Bay Packers last season. Biles made headlines recently with a personalized jacket she wore to Soldier Field for the Bears’ preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals, a piece of attire that cleverly highlighted her husband’s past and present teams. The jacket, which featured elements from both the Bears and Packers, sparked some playful controversy among NFL fans, given the historic rivalry between Chicago and Green Bay.
Unfazed by the chatter, Biles proudly shared photos of herself in the jacket on Instagram, embracing her role as a supportive wife while maintaining her own sense of style and humor.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Biles, who recently returned from the Paris Olympics with four medals, including three golds in the team and individual all-around finals, as well as the vault. She also secured a silver medal in the floor exercise final, bringing her total Olympic medal count to an astonishing 11. At just 4-foot-8, Biles continues to dominate the gymnastics world, further solidifying her status as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
Owens, 29, was granted permission by the Bears to travel to Paris earlier this month to support Biles during her Olympic competitions. The couple’s unwavering support for each other has been evident throughout their relationship, and while Biles’ tour commitments may keep her from attending many of Owens’ games this season, it’s clear that their bond remains strong.
As the NFL season approaches, with the Bears set to host the Tennessee Titans in their opener on September 8, Biles and Owens will continue to juggle their demanding careers while making time for each other whenever possible. Though her appearances at Soldier Field might be limited this year, Biles’ presence will undoubtedly be felt both on the road with her gymnastics tour and in spirit as she cheers on her husband from afar.
