Is Tim Anderson fighting everyone?
During an on-air report on Monday, executive producer Shane Riordan revealed a heated altercation between White Sox players Yasmani Grandal and Tim Anderson just before the All-Star break.
According to Riordan, Grandal, who had learned he wouldn’t be in the lineup, became frustrated and desired an early start to his time off.
Anderson, feeling offended, countered that if Grandal preferred to be elsewhere, he would personally pay for a ticket on a fast train.
The situation escalated when Grandal allegedly slapped Anderson as a response.
According to Riordan:
“Tim Anderson says, ‘Well, f–k you f–k that,’ if he wants to get out of here now, I’ll pay for his flight and bring him there myself.
“Yasmani Grandal walks over to Tim Anderson and slaps him across the face and they got into a fight from here. They had to be separated.”

Grandal dismissed the report claiming he had engaged in a physical altercation with teammate Tim Anderson the day prior to the all-star break, stating firmly, “Absolutely not.”
Via Daily Herald:
“Definitely not,” Grandal said. “This is unreal. Especially the fact that they said it was a day before the all-star break. I’ll tell you one thing. The one thing I was thinking about that day, especially after that game, was, ‘Let’s go to this lake house I have rented with my family, because I haven’t spent a lot of time with them.'”
Anderson is currently appealing his suspension for the fight he participated in the game against the Yankees on Monday night.
When asked about the alleged altercation between Grandal and Anderson, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn clarified that according to Anderson, it did not occur.
Hahn expressed confidence in Anderson’s statement and hoped there was no implication of deception.
Grandal, on the other hand, was only made aware of the reports before speaking to the media.
He expressed his understanding that people have their jobs, but found it concerning how far some individuals would go to create a story. Grandal emphasized that it seemed like they were actively searching for something to report.
Despite the situation, Grandal spoke positively about his teammate, highlighting that they have been teammates for almost four years, and Grandal believes that Anderson has the potential to be the best shortstop in baseball, a sentiment that has been witnessed by everyone.
