Derrick White is now a Boston sports legend.
A Game 7 will take place in Boston following the Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.
With three seconds remaining and the score at 103-102 in favor of Miami, Derrick White inbounded the ball to Marcus Smart who missed a 3-point shot.
However, White followed Smart’s shot and tipped in the rebound for the game-winning basket. Despite leading 98-88 with 3:51 left, Boston would have felt the sting of losing the series while blowing a 10-point lead late in the game.

Fortunately, White scored 11 points, including the crucial game-winning basket. The Celtics will host Game 7 on Monday night, becoming the fourth NBA team to force a Game 7 after being down 0-3 in a playoff series, though no other team has won the final game.
The Celtics are the 4th team in NBA history to force a Game 7 after trailing 0-3 in a series, joining:
1951 New York Knicks vs. Rochester Royals (Finals)
1994 Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz (2nd Round)
