The Washington Commanders have parted ways with kicker Brandon McManus in light of the ongoing investigation into sexual assault allegations against him.
The team officially released McManus this past Sunday.
The allegations stem from an incident in 2023, where McManus, then with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was accused of sexually assaulting two female flight attendants during a team flight to London for the NFL International Series in September.

McManus’ attorney, Brett R. Gallaway, has strongly refuted these claims, labeling the story as “absolutely fictitious” and suggesting it was an attempt to extort McManus.
McManus had a lengthy tenure with the Denver Broncos, playing from 2014 to 2022 and earning a Super Bowl ring in the 2015 season. Last season with the Jaguars, he successfully made 30 of 37 field goal attempts and converted all 35 of his extra-point attempts.
After signing a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Commanders in March, his departure leaves the team without an official kicker as they head into their upcoming Organized Team Activities (OTAs).
