Late last month, Buffalo Bills star pass rusher Von Miller surrendered to authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. The charges originated from a 911 call made by his girlfriend, reporting that Miller was involved in an altercation where he was “pushing” and “shoving” her. However, his girlfriend later recanted her statement, suggesting that the situation was “blown way out of context.”
Addressing the media for the first time since the incident, Miller refuted the allegations. He commented on the matter, stating:
“Everything that is out is completely wrong.” Miller continued to express his shock at seeing false information attached to his name, emphasizing that the accusations are “100 percent false” and “overblown.” Via PFT.
He asserted his knowledge of his own character and the type of person he is, as well as the dynamics of his relationship with his girlfriend.
While acknowledging that he and his girlfriend, like any other couple, have faced challenges, Miller made it explicitly clear that he has never been violent towards her. The pass rusher expressed his hope that “everything will be cleared up” in the near future.
Von Miller has encountered some off-field issues during his career, but for the most part, he has managed to avoid serious trouble.
