Vince McMahon stepped down from the board of directors of TKO last week, a day after facing grave allegations of sexual misconduct and sex trafficking from a former WWE employee. McMahon, who held the position of TKO’s executive chairman, was implicated in a lawsuit filed by a former female WWE staffer.
Initially lodged in the state of Connecticut, where WWE’s corporate headquarters is situated, the case is now potentially escalating to the federal level, with McMahon reportedly under federal investigation. Prosecutors are scrutinizing whether the 78-year-old violated federal law.
The lawsuit alleges that McMahon trafficked the former staffer to various individuals, both within and outside WWE, including former head of talent relations John Laurinaitus, who is also named as a defendant in the legal action.

WWE, TKO, and Endeavor appear to have completely distanced themselves from McMahon. WWE president Nick Khan conveyed in an email to staff that McMahon “will no longer have a role with TKO Group Holdings or WWE.” Bela Bajaria, Netflix’s content chief, confirmed McMahon’s departure when asked about him amid Netflix’s $5 billion deal with WWE for its flagship show, “Monday Night Raw.”
This marks McMahon’s second involvement with a federal investigation, the first being during the steroid trial that posed a significant threat to the company in the mid-1990s.
