Mikala Brown, a Tennessee native, attended Livingston Academy in Livingston, Tennessee, where she distinguished herself not only academically but also on the basketball court. Following her graduation, Brown pursued higher education at Tennessee Technological University. During her university years, Brown also embarked on a professional journey as a photographer, starting her own business in 2018. She has since developed a strong online presence, with both an Instagram page and a website dedicated to her photography business.
