The NFL season is right around the corner!
The Minnesota Vikings are at a crossroads with their quarterback selection this offseason, facing a classic rookie versus veteran dilemma.
They have a fresh talent in J.J. McCarthy, the 10th overall pick from the recent NFL draft, and the seasoned Sam Darnold, a former high draft pick himself.
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell recently indicated a preference in this quarterback contest. “I would say Sam would be the guy I would look to based on the spring he’s had and, really, where he’s at in his career and his quarterback journey,” O’Connell shared with reporters.

Last season, Darnold played in 10 games for the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, recording two touchdowns and one interception. Meanwhile, McCarthy is coming off a standout season where he led Michigan to a national championship and secured a top ten finish in the Heisman voting.
The Vikings are set to kick off their season against the New York Giants on September 8.
