During an independent league baseball game between the New York Boulders and the Tri-City ValleyCats, an umpire received an unexpected dismissal in an unusual fashion.
The game experienced a lengthy 61-minute delay in the first inning due to a confrontation between Boulders player Tucker Nathans and umpire Warren Nicholson, resulting in Nathans’ ejection.
Tempers flared between the two men, leading to a fiery exchange where Nicholson, the first base umpire, placed a hand on the player and, in a rare turn of events, found himself ejected as well.
Exiting the field through the center field fence, Nicholson was replaced by local resident Lou DeLuise.

Adding to the contentious atmosphere, ValleyCats manager Pete Incaviglia, a former MLB player, accused the Boulders of cheating by using their center-field camera to steal signs.
Boulders second baseman Tucker Nathans has been ejected from the game after an exchange with first-base umpire Warren Nicholson, who has also been removed from the game.
Play has now resumed after a 61-minute delay.

This allegation prompted Nicholson to request the removal of a league-approved tablet from the Boulders’ dugout, thereby escalating the already intense confrontation.
