During Monday’s game between the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, a number of fans ran onto the field and made contact with Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr.
Just before the start of the bottom of the seventh inning, one fan approached Acuna and tried to hug him, while another fan knocked him to the ground.
The incident led to a melee on the field, with Braves players and Coors Field security staff intervening to break it up.
Eventually, the fans were removed by security.

Acuna, who appeared unharmed, remained in the game and went on to contribute two more hits in the Braves’ 14-4 victory.
After the game, Acuna stated that he felt fine and believed the fans were attempting to take photos with him. Nevertheless, the incident left both teams shaken, with Braves manager Brian Snitker and Rockies manager Bud Black expressing their disappointment and concern.
Ronald Acuña Jr.: “I was a little scared at first, but I think the fans were out there and asking for a picture. But security was able to get there, and so I think everything’s OK. Everyone’s OK.”

Prior to the interruption, Acuna had reached a major milestone by stealing his 60th base of the season, making him the first player to achieve this feat since 2017.
He concluded the game with an impressive performance, collecting four hits, five RBIs, four runs, and two stolen bases.
