Stephen A. Smith always finds a way to stay in the news.
New footage has emerged revealing how Stephen A. Smith sustained his injury just before Friday night’s NBA All-Star celebrity basketball game.
During the Friday morning broadcast of ‘First Take,’ Molly Qerim initially reported that Smith had been hospitalized after being bested by Cowboys’ defensive star Micah Parsons during practice, resulting in a crossed-over and broken ankles scenario.
However, Smith countered Qerim’s account, asserting that he had simply slipped and fallen while shooting around. He clarified, “He and I were shooting around, shooting against one another, and it was some sweat on the floor, and I was about to pull up, just shoot it, I literally bust my a–.”

Subsequently, leaked footage of the incident corroborated Smith’s version of events.
Despite the setback, Smith still made an appearance at ESPN’s celebrity basketball tournament, albeit as a coach rather than a player, opting to support his team from the sidelines.
Stephen A. Smith should prioritize his role as a sports commentator rather than attempting to compete as an athlete himself.
